We are seeking an Executive Director to lead a land trust primarily serving Mountain View County. You will be the key operational member of a team currently consisting of administrative support and a working Board of Directors who will work closely with and support you.

Legacy Land Trust Society (LLTS) is entering its 12th year of operation and currently stewards more than 3,400 acres of ecologically valuable land under conservation easements. LLTS is committed to helping landowners conserve their land their way.

Important responsibilities will include interfacing with both existing and potential conservation easement donors. Identifying new conservation easement candidates will be a high priority as will developing and executing fundraising opportunities.

Ideally you will have experience as an Executive Director and possess an ecology, or equivalent, degree or diploma. An understanding of conservation easements will be an asset as well as experience in project and financial management. 

You will be self-motivated, entrepreneurial and passionate about making a career in conservation. You will have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy meeting and working with landowners to help them realize their conservation goals.

We will provide a competitive salary and paid vacation time based on education and experience.

The LLTS office is in Olds, Alberta. You will be required to spend time in the office as well as in the field. However, a hybrid arrangement including working at home will be considered.
